A Maine Sleigh Ride Experience unlike any other
Welcome to Northern Heights Farm, located in the scenic foot hills of
Western Maine near the White Mountains. This peaceful property sits on a quiet dirt road just one mile from Waterford Maine's
quaint historic village. This charming homestead and vintage post and beam barn are part of a 75 acre piece of farm land with
New England rock walls, open fields and woodlands surrounding.
is owned and operated by Jeff and Colleen Winslow with their four children working together, sharing a love for family, animals,
the land and farming. They offer private romantic Sleigh Rides and private larger group sleigh rides during the peaceful winter
months and wagon rides during their breath taking fall foliage season. Weather you are coming to their farm for a romantic
getaway with your loved one, a vacation with your family or as a fun winter activity with friends you will experience a sleigh
ride unlike any other. Come relax,
unwind, and make memories you’ll cherish for a lifetime. As owner’s Jeff and Colleen strive to give each of their guests their Exceptional Hospitality with that personal touch! Their goal is for people to arrive at their farm as guest
but leave as friends!
Jeff is the third generation in his family
enjoying Belgain draft horses. As well as giving sleigh rides and wagon rides their horses are used for farm work such as
spreading manure, plowing the garden and harrowing the fields. They log the land with horse power which 100% heats the homestead.
When all of the chores are finished they enjoy spending time together with the horses going for a family trail ride or simply
sitting out in the barn feeding out treats.
Come to Northern
Heights Farm as a weekend away and stay at one of our local Bed and Breakfast. Here in Waterford Maine you will find Bear
Mountain Inn as a spectacular four-season
lakefront bed and breakfast resort only a 5 minute drive. The Noble House Bed and Breakfast is another luxurious resort
in close by Bridgton Maine. If you are looking for other outdoor activities you can enjoy a day of skiing at Shawnee Peak
ski resort or Sunday River both a close 30 minute drive. Or breath in the fresh air while you shoe shoe or cross country ski
in Bethel or Oxford Maine at Carter’s Cross Country.
OUR FIBER ANIMALS
When you are visiting our farm do no miss saying Hello
to our other animals. This small barn was made for our two sheep ewe's named Rosemary and Nutmeg, our Cashmere goat named Winter
and their guard donkey's Sadie and her baby Ernest. We also have 12 Angora rabbits. These animals are our fiber producers
as well as wonderful pets. Their fiber is sheared, cleaned, carded and spin into yarn right here on our farm from owner, Colleen
Winslow. She makes beautiful hand raised, hand made products. Her 100% angora scarves and hats are a must see (and feel). We
can not forget about our happy laying hens, that our
children enjoy gathering the eggs from each morning.
