Our English Angora Rabbits
About Colleen and her Angora rabbits
I bought my first two 100% English Angora rabbits with a drop
spindle when I was only 8 years old. I loved spinning fiber and my rabbits were great pets. I started saving my money right
away for my own wheel. After 2 years of saving, I bought my first spinning wheel a Ashford Traditional at 10
years old. I picked this wheel because it was old looking not "modern" like the louets that I have always
loved and spin with now. Being homeschooled growing up, I volunteered at a historical house run by our local historical society.
The house was built in 1797 with a big barn and a black smiths shop. I brought my wheel and my rabbits every weekend to this
place, in period costume to give tours and spinning demo's. We had great fun doing this and it went as my schools history
classes.
I have bred rabbits mostly for myself, selling
one here and there. I found as I was starting to sell them that people loved my rabbits which has lead me into breeding more
often and offering them for sale. Most all of my rabbits have been born here on our farm. From the beginning of
their life we carry them around and love on them resulting in very friendly, outgoing rabbits.
Also a few years ago I started spinning and knitting angora products to sell
to our sleigh ride customers. After people asking if my Angora rabbits and products are on our website, I started this page
.
